Too Close for Comfort
In the summer of 2008, Al and Marypat Kesselheim, along with two of their teenaged children, Sawyer and Ruby, spent a month canoeing 350 miles across wild Manitoba. “Shades of White” is Al’s account of the harrowing finish to their trip, as they paddled from the mouth of the Seal River down the coast of Hudson Bay to Churchill. The photos below, taken by Marypat, offer a look at that final push.
